Lester Links Battery Charger 48v13a CC 3 Pin OBC
This Club Car Battery Charger 48 Volt 13 Amp is the OEM PowerDrive Replacement for your club car . It is designed and manufactured specifically to work on your 1995 & up Club Car golf cart that has a 48 volt system with a functional non-bypassed OBC “Onboard computer” in the charger circuit. If your cart is still stock and was being charged with a PowerDrive 1,2 or 3 charger this is the replacement. This 48 volt battery charger will prevent undercharging or overcharging your club car golf cart batteries. This charger is part of the Lester Links Series line up. This Links Series club car 48 volt golf cart battery charger features advanced features to monitor your batteries state of charge. Giving you peace of mind when your cart is not being used for an extended period of time. This Links Series model is designed for use with Club Car golf carts that are equipped with an OBC (On-Board Computer.) Plug it in and Forget about it! The Links Series smart charger will automatically stop charging once it detects your batteries are completely recharged.
Note – If your batteries are dead and the golf cart does not run and drive, try to charge the batteries individually first to return each to advertised voltage. (Hence 6v battery needs to show 6 volts on amp meter, 8v battery needs to show 8 volts, 12v battery needs to show 12 volts.) Check each individually and then check as a whole. Your 48v system should have 48-51 volts usually above 50 volts when completely charged. Also check the charger port on the golf cart where you plug in your charger on the golf cart. Those two pins should show the same voltage found on the battery bank to confirm you have a good circuit and connection for charger to charge batteries. Sometimes wires get pinched or corroded or a fuse gets blown from a power surge. These are some of the most common reasons the charger does not work on your newer style Club Car golf cart 1995 and up.
**If you are trying to charge dead batteries the battery charger will not work! There needs to be a minimum voltage in the batteries. Older Lester chargers need about 70% of normal charge and the newer chargers made beginning in 2004 need to sense only 5 volts
For the Quick Chargers – On boards: 50% – Portables: 10 volts
